Job description

Saturn Petcare is a German company with a production facility in Hattem, the Netherlands, specializing in high-quality canned food for cats and dogs. The factory operates under strict safety and hygiene standards, producing millions of pet food cans every year for well-known brands.

About the Job

As a Pet Food Production Worker, you’ll be part of one of three departments in the production process:

Paté Preparation Department

  • Preparing meat mixtures according to recipes
  • Lifting and loading up to 20 kg of meat onto the assembly line
  • Standing and performing physical work for long periods

Canning and Sterilization Department

  • Operating machinery that cans and cooks the pet food
  • Moving carts with heavy products and monitoring production lines

Labeling and Quality Control Department

  • Operating labeling machines
  • Checking finished cans for damage or defects
  • Ensuring that all products meet quality and safety standards

Because this is a meat factory, the environment can smell of meat and become warm during summer months, especially in the first two departments. Saturn ensures that extra water and drinks are available for employees.

The salary for this role is €14,40 gross/hour and employees will work 38 hours per week in a 3-shift system:

  • Morning shift: Monday–Friday, 07:00–15:06 (+15% allowance)
  • Afternoon shift: Monday–Friday, 15:00–23:06 (+15% allowance)
  • Night shift: Sunday–Thursday, 23:00–07:06 (+25% allowance)

There are also additional overtime allowances:

  • Weekdays: 125%
  • Weekends: 150–200%

This is a stable, full-time job with long-term opportunities. Company car transport from accommodation to work (30–40 minutes) is also provided. Drivers pay €25/week and receive €7.50/week for car maintenance allowance. Additionally, protective clothing, shoes, and earplugs are provided by the company. There's a canteen on site, meaning that you can bring your own food or buy meals.

Requirements

  • Driver’s license required (for commuting and potential driver role)
