M. van Happen Transport B.V. is a leading logistics and waste management company with a large and diverse fleet of over 250 vehicles, including refuse collection trucks, hook lift trucks, and tractor-trailer combinations.

As a Truck Mechanic, you will work in a dynamic workshop located at the heart of operations, between the sorting halls and the container workshop. Trucks are constantly in motion, and your role is essential in keeping the fleet operational and efficient.

As a Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of commercial vehicles. Using a modern workshop app, you will receive real-time work orders and fault reports, allowing you to respond quickly and efficiently.

Your tasks include:

• Diagnosing faults in trucks and body systems (hydraulics, electronics, air brakes)
• Performing preventive maintenance according to schedules
• Carrying out repairs on trucks, trailers, and container systems
• Working on both simple repairs (e.g. lighting) and complex systems (e.g. hydraulic hook arms)
• Collaborating with colleagues on major repairs and overhauls
• Using modern diagnostic tools and managing digital work orders

Every day is different, offering a mix of routine maintenance and challenging technical work.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in truck, heavy vehicle, or machinery maintenance
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, and air brake systems
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, schematics, and diagnostic reports
• Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills
• Problem-solving ability and technical insight
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Basic computer skills (for workshop systems and app)

Terms of Employment

• Salary: €600 – €620 net per week
• Overtime: up to 10 hours per week possible
