As a Hooklift Truck Driver CE, you’ll be responsible for the transport of various containers using a hooklift system. Depending on your preference, you can work long international routes or day shifts within the Netherlands.

Your work will be dynamic and physically active, including customer interaction and coordination with dispatch and colleagues.

Main Tasks:

• Load and unload containers using the hooklift system
• Swap full and empty containers
• Secure and cover containers for transport
• Drive routes in day shifts or multi-day routes (Monday–Friday with overnight stays in truck cabin)
• Maintain your vehicle and follow safety and environmental regulations

Requirements

• Valid CE driving license, Code 95, and driver card
• At least 1 year of CE driving experience
• Experience with hooklift trucks preferred
• Experience with molenstel, triangel, or schamel systems is an advantage (training available)
• Experience in construction transport, skip loaders, containers, or cranes is a plus
• Physically fit and ready for hands-on work
• Responsible and able to work independently
• Willingness to work in day or night shifts, overtime and occasionally weekends
• Stable employment history and reliable work ethic
• Able to provide a VOG (certificate of conduct) if requested
• No visible tattoos on face, neck, or hands

Salary & Benefits

• Weekly net salary: €800 – €950 (based on 50 hours)
• Overnight allowance: €63 net per full day
• Health insurance included (€38.01/week)

During the training period (approx. 4 weeks):

• Work mainly day shifts, returning daily to accommodation
• Net income: €640–675/week (including Saturdays)
• After training and overnight routes: €913 net/week (housing included) or €1,013 net/week (private accommodation)

Overtime rates:

• 30% extra for hours beyond 40 (Mon–Fri)
• 50% extra on Saturdays
• 100% extra on Sundays
• €0.80 net/hour “coffee money” for drivers spending over 4 hours outside the base
• €63 net per 24 hours outside the base

Candidate Recruitment Process

• Face-to-face meeting required
• Driving test at Van Happen (mandatory)
• If passed, participation in Van Happen Academy training
• Initial pay scale: D4 or D6, depending on experience
• Candidates with experience on molenstel/triangel start at D6

Vehicles Used

• Truck brands: Mercedes, MAN, DAF
• Trailer types: container combi with waste, molenstel (turntable steering), triangel (drawbar), schamel (turntable axle)
