We are currently recruiting experienced Assembly Mechanics for a steady long-term position with Royal IHC Smit B.V., a global leader in maritime technology and engineering. Candidates will initially be employed through the agency for the first six months, with support for housing and onboarding, followed by direct employment with Royal IHC.
After the initial period, candidates are expected to relocate to private housing near the shipyard and transition into a stable, long-term role directly with the client.

As an Assembly Mechanic in the Mechanical and Hydraulic Assembly Department, you will work alongside experienced colleagues to build hydraulic manifolds from start to finish. Your work will directly impact the quality and reliability of high-tech maritime components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and mount hydraulic manifolds using technical drawings and assembly instructions
- Work independently based on structured planning and workflows
- Inspect and register completed products in the system
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during assembly
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace, following safety protocols at all times
We’re looking for a skilled technician who is passionate about precision, quality, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Technical background or relevant hands-on experience (at least 2 years)
- Experience with hydraulic systems
- Strong ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Precise, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
- Proactive and responsible mindset
- Ready to arrange private accommodation and transportation to work after 6 months
Additional Certifications (or willingness to obtain):
- Forklift certificate (experience with up to 5 tons)
- VVL certificate (rigging and lifting loads)
- VCA Basic Safety Certificate
Compensation Overview
- First 6 Months (via agency):
- €700 net per week
- Housing support provided
- After 6 Months (Direct Hire by Royal IHC):
- Gross salary: €3500–€4000/month
- Net salary: €2700–€3000/month
- Candidates will arrange private accommodation and transportation to work
