We are looking for experienced bus mechanics for bus garages and transport companies in the Netherlands.

You will carry out diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to help keep buses safe, reliable and ready for operation.

Your responsibilities may include

• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Carrying out scheduled maintenance and inspections
• Repairing engines, brakes, clutches and steering systems
• Working on suspension, drivetrain and ABS systems
• Replacing wheel bearings, oils, fluids and other mechanical components
• Using vehicle diagnostic equipment
• Reading technical reports and repair instructions
• Identifying the cause of breakdowns
• Repairing vehicle electronics
• Working according to professional garage and safety procedures

Candidates with relevant experience in buses, trucks or other heavy commercial vehicles may be considered, depending on the employer’s requirements. The source material groups bus and truck experience within the same broader heavy-vehicle mechanic profile.

You do not need experience with every duty listed above. Recruiters will evaluate your background and propose you for suitable bus-mechanic positions.

Requirements

• At least 3+ years relevant experience as a bus mechanic or heavy-vehicle mechanic
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and accurately
• Technical education or mechanic qualification is preferred
• Experience in a bus garage is an advantage
• VCA certificate is an advantage, or willingness to obtain one
