We are looking for experienced truck mechanics for truck garages and transport companies in the Netherlands.

You will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles. The exact work will depend on your technical background, experience and the type of trucks used by the employer.

Your responsibilities may include

• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
• Carrying out preventive maintenance and repairs
• Working on engines, brakes, clutches and steering systems
• Repairing suspension, drivetrain and ABS systems
• Replacing wheel bearings, oils, fluids and timing-system components
• Using diagnostic equipment
• Reading technical reports
• Identifying the cause of vehicle breakdowns
• Assessing damage and determining the necessary repairs
• Working according to professional garage and manufacturer procedures

Experience with brands such as DAF, MAN, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, IVECO or Scania is useful, but candidates with experience on other truck brands may also apply.

You do not need experience with every task or truck brand listed above. Recruiters will match your profile with the most suitable position.

Requirements

• At least 3+ years relevant experience as a truck mechanic
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge
• Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems
• Technical education or mechanic qualification is preferred
• Experience in a truck garage or transport company is an advantage
• VCA certificate is an advantage, or willingness to obtain one
