As a CMM / Quality Technician, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that VDL’s high-precision CNC-machined components and assemblies meet stringent tolerances and quality standards. This role is essential in maintaining excellence across production, particularly for demanding industries like automotive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect complex and high-precision machined parts
- Interpret technical drawings, including GD&T, and 3D CAD models
- Conduct first-article inspections, in-process quality checks, and final validations
- Use manual measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
- Record results, create inspection reports, and maintain quality documentation
- Flag deviations and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to uphold quality requirements
- Follow VDL’s quality management systems, likely certified under ISO 9001 or IATF 16949
Job Requirements
- Practical experience with CMM equipment (e.g., Zeiss, Mitutoyo, Hexagon)
- Proficient in GD&T and interpreting detailed mechanical drawings
- Skilled in 3D measurement software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar platforms
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy within tight tolerances
- Prior experience in precision manufacturing (automotive sector is a plus)
- Understanding of quality control processes and reporting standards
