The company handles everything from routine maintenance to complex repairs, steel and welding work, damage repair, component replacement, and the modernization of ship systems.

As a Metalworker at Damen Shiprepair, you’ll handle a wide range of ship maintenance and repair tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

• Dismantling and assembling machines, propeller shafts, rudders, bow thrusters, and couplings independently.
• Transporting complex ship components on board.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and work instructions.
• Measuring and aligning ship components according to protocol.
• Using tools including hydraulic equipment safely and efficiently.
• Working in compliance with safety standards (safe hoisting, aerial work platforms, forklift operation).

Requirements:

• MBO Level 3 or equivalent education/work level.
• Advanced theoretical and practical mechanical knowledge.
• Solution-oriented mindset for technically complex issues.
• Experience in shipbuilding, especially in maintenance and repair of machinery (at least 2 years)
• Skilled in using measuring and alignment tools.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: €600 – €650 net per week (based on a 40-hour workweek).
