Join the team at Albert Heijn's Zaandam distribution center, a critical hub for delivering all food and non-food products across the Netherlands. This is a crucial role that requires physical strength and endurance, as you will be picking heavy orders (some items up to 20kg) throughout the entire day.

You will be trained to use a modern voice picking system (available in English and Polish) and operate your own EPT (Electric Pallet Truck) to collect products from racks. We are looking for determined individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-target environment.

Key Responsibilities & Departments

You will be assigned to one of two critical departments:

Vers (Fresh/Chilled Department):

• Working in a cold storage environment (2°C).
• Picking chilled food orders using the voice picking system.
• Operating an EPT to navigate the racks and collect products.
• Working towards set targets with support from dedicated coordinators.

KW (Dry Goods/General Warehouse):

• Handling non-food and dry goods.
• General warehouse duties, including order fulfillment and loading/unloading.

The base hourly salary is €14.94 per hour for workers 21 years and older.

Further allowances include:

Cold Addition (+€0.35 gross per hour (when working in the Vers department at 2°C)

Overtime Addition +40% for all approved overtime hours.

Night Shift Bonus +37% addition for night shift hours.

Weekend Bonus +35% for Saturday shifts; +100% for Sunday shifts.

First payment is in the second week, followed by weekly pay cheques.

Shifts and Working Hours

• Dayshift: 07:00 – 15:30 (Monday – Sunday)
• Late Dayshift: 08:30 – 17:00 (Monday – Friday on KW & Friday on Vers)
• Nightshift: 23:00 – 07:00 (Sunday – Friday; no night shift on Saturday)
• Eveningshift: 18:00 – 23:00 (Saturday)

Important Holiday Note: Due to extreme demand during Christmas and Easter, it is not possible to take holidays during these periods.

Optional Driver Role: Drivers are responsible for transporting colleagues and maintaining the vehicle. This role involves a fee of ~€25 per week, but drivers receive €7.50 per week for cleaning and can use the car privately within the Netherlands (own costs).

Main Requirements

• Physical Fitness: The work is very heavy. You must be strong and in good physical condition (regularly handling 20kg).
• Minimum Height: You must have a minimum length of 1.70m.
• Experience: Warehouse experience is preferred, though not strictly required, given the intensive training provided.
• Accommodation: Willing to live in a shared room and share common area (kitchen, bathroom)
• Partner: Accept working in separate shifts and departments when applying with a friend or a partner
