The client specializes in air, sea, and road transport, alongside comprehensive contract logistics. In the Netherlands, the company provides overarching logistics concepts encompassing warehousing, distribution, supply chain management, value-added logistics, customs warehousing, freight management, and customer information management to add value to client supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
As a team leader, you are responsible for directing and aligning logistic tasks within the designated team to meet established requirements regarding time, quality, procedures, and rules.
1. Inbound & Outbound Goods Management
- Aligning execution work with the Customer Services Department.
- Unloading inbound trucks using internal transport equipment (or arranging it).
- Scanning, labeling, stacking on pallets, sealing pallets, moving, and storing goods.
- Picking full or partial orders and loading outbound trucks using loading documents.
- Handling the administrative processing of tasks within the system.
2. Process Improvements & Quality Control
- Investigating damage and/or missing goods reports with accurate assessments.
- Discussing operational disruptions and reporting deviations to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Providing timely input for projects aimed at improving logistic processes, procedures, and maintaining up-to-date work instructions.
3. Technical & Team Management
- Distributing day-to-day work and acting as the primary point of contact for DSV employees and temporary workers.
- Monitoring operational progress, consulting the Warehouse Supervisor regarding deviations, and contributing to employee deployability and development.
- Providing input for or co-conducting performance review and appraisal meetings with the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Supporting adequate planning and staffing alongside the Customer Services Department and Warehouse Supervisor.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Supervising compliance with legal, company, and safety regulations.
- Monitoring daily maintenance, checks, and cleaning of the workspace and internal transport equipment.
- Promptly identifying and reporting any equipment defects or procedural deviations to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Supervision & Team Scope
- Supervises: Warehouse Operators and All-round Warehouse Operators on technical matters in the absence of a Senior Warehouse Team Leader.
- Team Size: Typically consists of 5 to 15 DSV staff members and temporary workers.
The base salary may reach 3250 gross for 40 hr. a week, depending on education and experience.
Requirements
- Education: MBO (senior secondary vocational education) level 3 education in a relevant field of expertise.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory position within a logistics or manufacturing environment.
- Certifications: A valid diploma or certificate to operate a forklift truck and/or reach truck.
- Decisiveness: Initiating actions and making decisions by expressing clear opinions.
