Join our client, a world-leading provider of transport solutions, including trucks, buses, and engines as a production worker. At their specialized facility in Meppel, they focus on the precision painting and assembly of truck cab components. They are looking for motivated, diligent, and detail-oriented colleagues to join our production department.
As a Production Worker, you will be a vital part of a team (6–12 people) responsible for the final stages of our cabin parts. Whether you are working in assembly or the loading department, your work ensures that our global production sites receive high-quality parts ready for final truck assembly.
Key Responsibilities
- Manual Assembly: Assembling painted parts by hand or using specialized tools with high precision.
- Logistics & Order Picking: Efficiently hanging or picking parts to prepare them for transport.
- Safety & Quality: Maintaining a clean, safe workspace and ensuring every part meets Scania’s rigorous quality standards.
The salary for the role is a gross hourly wage of €17,56. Work is formed around a structured rotation with competitive shift allowances:
- Morning: 06:00 – 14:18
- Afternoon: 14:18 – 22:36 (Fridays until 23:00)
- Night: 22:36 – 06:00 (Sundays start at 22:00)
- Allowances: 20.3% shift allowance for every hour worked; 46.6% for overtime.
Apart from the salary and allowances the company offers a comprehensive 3-day induction program to get you started, including a complimentary lunch on your first day. Work gear is also provided, together with guaranteed transport to work. If you have a driving license, you may be invited to drive a company car for your group.
You will also have access to the company cafeteria for breaks (a total of 50 minutes per day). Couples are welcome in the company and management will do their best to align shift schedules.
Additional notes:
- Summer Break: Please note that the Meppel facility closes for a summer break during weeks 29, 30, 31, and 32. There is no work or income during this period. Candidates can take a 4-week vacation (if staying in the agency housing, you will have to pay for this period, but you can move out and return after)
- Safe Environment: Scania maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding alcohol, drugs, and violence.
- Healthy Workplace: We are a strictly non-smoking facility; smoking is prohibited anywhere on the premises.
Requirements
- Communication: Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential for following safety instructions and communicating with your team.
- Physical Fitness: You are capable of performing physical work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Reliability: We value a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in the automotive industry.
- Availability: You are comfortable working in a rotating 3-shift pattern (Morning, Night, Afternoon) and occasional Saturday mornings (approx. 4–5 times per year).
- Experience (Plus): Previous experience in logistics or a forklift/reach truck certificate is an advantage, but not required.
- Accommodation: Willing to live in a shared room and share common area (kitchen, bathroom)
- Partner: Accept working in separate shifts and departments when applying with a friend or a partnerP
