Our client, Van Gelder, is looking for production workers for fruits and vegetables to join their team in Ridderkerk, the Netherlands!

Van Gelder Groente & Fruit is a family-owned Dutch company specialising in the supply of fresh potatoes, vegetables, and fruits. With over 70 years of experience, they serve various sectors, including hospitality, catering, and retail. Their extensive assortment features more than 5,000 products, ranging from common to exotic varieties. Emphasising quality and freshness, Van Gelder maintains direct relationships with growers to ensure rapid delivery from farm to customer. Their state-of-the-art facility in Ridderkerk includes an Experience Centre, offering visitors insights into the world of fresh produce.

Main Responsibilities

• Work across various production areas, including slicing, hot kitchen, cold kitchen, and packing departments;
• Slice and package fruits and vegetables efficiently;
• Ensure the workspace is kept clean and hygienic;
• Operate slicing and packing machinery safely and effectively.

The starting salary for this position is €14.06 gross per hour, with an additional 8% holiday allowance. The role offers full-time work of 38 hours per week, including two Saturday shifts per month, with paid overtime and day shifts from 6:00-15:00 or 8:00-17:00. There is also an opportunity for a contract with the client.

Requirements

• CV in English is required to apply for this vacancy;
• Experience in the food industry, or AGF (fruits and vegetables);
• Flexibility to work outside standard 9–5 hours;
• Ability to work in a cold environment (approximately 5°C);
• Willingness to live and work with multiple nationalities;
• Availability to stay longer in the Netherlands.

You must wear long trousers and closed shoes, and no jewelry or false nails/eyelashes are allowed in food production!
