Scheepswerf Gebr. Kooiman BV, founded in 1884, is located in Zwijndrecht at the Swinhaven, strategically positioned along the major waterways. Over the years, the shipyard has developed into a modern, fully equipped company offering a wide range of services—from new construction to large-scale modifications and repairs.

The shipyard features two slipways up to 110 meters (1,700 tons), a 150-meter outfitting quay, and two ship docks with lifting capacities up to 1,000 tons and a width of 19 meters. One of the slipways is connected to the large shipbuilding hall, allowing for both covered new builds and covered repairs.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Ironworker for Shipbuilding to join our team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Finishing new ship constructions
• Performing ironwork such as burning, welding, cutting, grinding, and bench work
• Electrode welding (process 111)
• Installing components like doors, grilles, railings, staircases, gates, winches, and cable systems
• Reading and working from technical drawings
• Working with various metals, hand tools, and mechanical equipment
• Performing tasks both indoors and outdoors

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in ironwork at shipyards
• Experience with electrode welding (111)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Familiarity with different materials and tools
• Willingness to work outdoors
• Proactive, accurate, and quality-oriented mindset

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: €580 – €640 per week (depending on experience)
