Are you an experienced Truck Mechanic with strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repairs? Would you like to work in a professional garage in the Netherlands?

For our client we are looking for skilled Truck Mechanics to work in truck dealerships, commercial vehicle workshops, and independent garages across the Netherlands. You will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing trucks and other commercial vehicles. Depending on your experience and the available projects, you may work on different vehicle brands and mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems. The work is normally carried out at one fixed garage, where you will have your own toolbox and work alongside other experienced mechanics.

Main Responsibilities

• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in trucks and commercial vehicles.
• Performing regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Repairing and replacing engines, gearboxes, transmissions, and clutch systems.
• Maintaining and repairing braking systems, including ABS.
• Repairing steering systems, suspension, wheel bearings, and drivetrain components.
• Performing oil and fluid changes and replacing worn or damaged parts.
• Checking wheel alignment, tyres, and vehicle geometry.
• Identifying the causes of breakdowns and carrying out necessary repairs.
• Using diagnostic equipment and interpreting technical reports.
• Working with vehicle electronics and electrical systems.
• Following manufacturer specifications and professional garage procedures.
• Recording completed work and following workshop documentation.

The exact responsibilities will depend on your technical experience and the type of vehicles serviced by the garage.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience as a Truck Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Mechanic. Candidates with 5+ years of experience are preferred.
• Proven hands-on experience in truck maintenance, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
• Experience working in a truck dealership, commercial vehicle workshop, or independent garage.
• Strong knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and drivetrain systems.
• Ability to identify technical problems and carry out repairs independently.
• Experience working with truck brands such as DAF, MAN, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, IVECO, or Scania is an advantage.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment such as Bosch, Autel, Launch, or manufacturer-specific systems is an advantage, but not mandatory.
• Ability to read technical reports and follow workshop procedures.
• Technical education or a vocational diploma in Automotive Engineering is preferred, but relevant practical experience is more important than formal qualifications.
• Experience with electric or hybrid vehicles is an advantage, but not required.
• VCA Basic safety certificate is an advantage, or willingness to obtain one.

Salary and Working Conditions

• €580–€625 net per week, including accommodation and a company car.
• Working hours usually Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, depending on the assignment.
• Possibility of overtime and weekend work, compensated at increased rates according to project conditions.
• Private bedroom provided in a shared house, usually with 3–4 other colleagues.
• Company car with fuel card available for work-related transport.
• Company car without private use is free. Private use is available for approximately €40 per week, allowing around 150–200 private km.
• Candidates using their own car may receive a km allowance of €0.23/km, subject to transport arrangements.
• Own toolbox provided at the garage.
• Opportunity to work in established dealerships and professional commercial vehicle workshops.
• Start date as soon as possible, depending on project availability.
• Assignment duration and exact workplace will be discussed during the intake process.
