Scheepswerf Gebr. Kooiman BV, founded in 1884, is located in Zwijndrecht at the Swinhaven, strategically positioned along the major waterways. Over the years, the shipyard has developed into a modern, fully equipped company offering a wide range of services—from new construction to large-scale modifications and repairs.

The shipyard features two slipways up to 110 meters (1,700 tons), a 150-meter outfitting quay, and two ship docks with lifting capacities up to 1,000 tons and a width of 19 meters. One of the slipways is connected to the large shipbuilding hall, allowing for both covered new builds and covered repairs.

As an Ironworker (Shipbuilding), you will play a vital role in both new ship construction and repair projects at our yard. Your daily tasks will include:

• Carrying out ship repairs and maintenance
• Participating in new ship construction
• Performing ironwork such as burning, welding, cutting, sanding, and bench construction work
• Accurately reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Working with various tools and materials, both indoors and outdoors

Requirements

We are looking for someone with the following profile:

• At least 1 year of experience in ironwork on shipyards
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Familiarity with a variety of materials, hand tools, and mechanical tools
• Comfortable working outdoors
• Proactive, accurate, and quality-oriented attitude

Working Conditions

• Salary: €560+ per week (depending on experience)
